CCPA Privacy Notice

Effective date: April 15, 2026 · Last updated: April 15, 2026

This CCPA Privacy Notice applies to California residents and supplements our Privacy Policy. It describes how we collect, use, and share personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

1. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

  • Identifiers: account email address and display name (if you create an account); the device advertising identifier (IDFA), in the free version only and only with your App Tracking Transparency consent.
  • Commercial information: purchase and subscription status processed by Apple (StoreKit).
  • Internet/electronic activity: app usage patterns, articles read, features used — stored locally on your device and, if you have an account, synced to our backend provider Supabase.
  • Inferences: reading preferences derived from in-app selections.

2. Purposes for Collection

  • Providing and improving the App's functionality.
  • Processing in-app purchases.
  • Responding to customer support inquiries.
  • Diagnosing and fixing technical issues.

3. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. In the free version of the App, if you opt in through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) may be shared with Google AdMob to show personalized ads. Under the CPRA, this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you do not opt in — or if you use Quillora Premium — no such sharing occurs, and you see only non-personalized ads or no ads at all. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

4. Your CCPA Rights

  • Right to Know: request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to Delete: request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sharing: you can opt out of the sharing described above at any time by declining Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, by disabling tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or by subscribing to Quillora Premium (which removes ads).
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: we do not process sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights.

5. How to Submit a Request

To exercise your rights, submit a verifiable consumer request by emailing us at [email protected] with the subject line "CCPA Request". We will respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

6. Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of authorization and may verify your identity directly.
