GDPR Compliance

This page describes how Quillora complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") for users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.


1. Data Controller

For purposes of the GDPR, the data controller is Quillora. You can contact us at [email protected] for any GDPR-related requests.

2. Legal Bases for Processing

  • Contractual necessity: to provide the App's core functionality, process your purchases, and maintain your account preferences.
  • Legitimate interests: to improve the App, diagnose crashes, and respond to support requests.
  • Consent: to send push notifications (you may withdraw consent at any time in device Settings).
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws.

3. What Data We Process

  • App preferences and reading progress (stored locally on-device).
  • Purchase receipts from Apple (anonymized).
  • Email address and message content when you contact us voluntarily.
  • Basic device/OS data for diagnostics.

4. Your GDPR Rights

  • Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to restrict processing: request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Rights related to automated decision-making: Quillora does not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Data Transfers

Data processed by Apple (StoreKit, CloudKit, APNs) may be transferred outside the EEA. Apple participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and implements Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. For more information, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in our Privacy Policy, or as required by law. Support emails are retained for up to 2 years. On-device data is retained until you uninstall the App.

7. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe we have not handled your data appropriately, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. For EU residents, this is the data protection authority in your member state.
